Visit to Mekedonia
Our Visit to Mekedonia Home for the Elderly and Mentally Disabled! A Sanctuary of the Poor, the Sick, the Weak, and the Friendless We had the chance to hold a small lunch program for 140 of our guests. Our guests are none-other than the residents of Mekedonia, who depend on Mekedonia for their everyday continued existence with dignity. Mekedonia was formed 10 years ago by Biniyam Belete. Mekedonia is an organization focused on helping the lives of the elderly and those with mental disabilities, by providing all basic services (food, clothes, shelter, hygiene facilities, medical, education, and others) to the residents in the center. Mekedonia has 9 branches which house more than 7500 people throughout the country! The location we went to is in Addis Ababa, located near Ayat Round About next to Abebech Gobena MCH Hospital Please use their official number 0940404040 for any additional information It has a ‘diaper room’ for both males and females, separately where nearly all are bedridden. There’s a total of 200 beds for the diaper room. Those in the ‘diaper room” will neither say thank you nor ask you if they are hungry! Because they can't! Gedion is a stroke patient He has lost both his parents and had no relatives He joined Mekedonia 10 years ago and had a stroke five years prior. He has learned till Grade 8. Gedion can’t express himself. He takes fluid to ingest all food. Gedion is now 33 years old. Our guide says Gedion enjoys photos and is always thankful to God despite his very challenging life! Many famous people including @AbiyAhmedAli have their photos posted while sharing a smile with Gedion This is the library of Mekedonia, a former librarian at AAU heads the library on a voluntary basis after retiring! There are a lot of people who’ve used the library and learned starting from scratch! Feel free to donate old newspapers or any type of book! This is the new 14 floor block of Mekedonia! Unfortunately, they have no option but to use it in the current standards to house more than 2000 people on the first few floors! Thank you Mekedonia! Truly Mekedonia! We leave you with their famous motto "ሰውን ለመርዳት ሰው መሆን በቂ ነው" "To help a fellow human, being a human is enough"
Visit to Babul Keyer
In a set of our pre-launch events, we're visiting local NGOs we love so dearly. On Friday, September 23rd, 2022, we visited Babul Keyer, a local Not for Profit that mainly focuses on its feeding program. We had the chance to hold a small lunch program for forty of our guests. Our guests are none-other than the registered people, who depend on Babul Keyer for their everyday continued existence with dignity. Although Babul Keyer, mainly depends on donations from the wide local and international community, Babul Keyer, produces beautiful leather products, garments, and selected food items as one of the means to support this noble cause. Babul Keyer feeds more than 1500 families daily, accounting for more than 4000 people, with dignity. Small tiffin boxes are arranged and picked up by family registered family members. Food is prepared for both Muslims and Christians, separately according to each religion's regulations. Fasting food is also prepared for Christians on Fasting days. Those who're unable to come and pick up will have their food delivered to their homes. Those who're 'ashamed' to publicly accept these tiffin boxes for various reasons are allocated monthly groceries. Daily, it costs them 126,000 Birr if the food is cooked with meat, or 75,000 Birr if cooked full vegetable! Their first address and the one we visited is near Saint Paul Medical College, behind Abebe Bikila Stadium Please also follow their Facebook page 'Babul Keyer NGO' for regular posts! When you visit don’t forget to participate in the signature “Make your own injera for only 50 Birr” challenge! We're glad to also inform you that lommi.org by Health and Hope for the Generation Charitable Organization, the first medically specialized crowdsourcing platform, will launch on Thursday, 29, September 2022! Locate! Operate! Transform!

Efoy Health Package Scheme
To increase access to high quality healthcare opportunities, we’ve designed a scheme that enables an affordable and innovative approach for all sectors of society. Via our partner hospital, Efoy Health Package offers a 12 month free health care delivery with only 15 USD for adults and 7.5 USD for pediatrics. Beyond designing the scheme and providing digital control of this in collaboration with Korenti Craft Technologies, we’re also mobilizing support for the many that still can’t afford the minimal fee stated. Via Lommi Projects we hope our energetic community can continue to make the impact we have started upon! Donate Now!
Dermatology Campaign
We strive to increase awareness of communities, towards modern, safe and high quality healthcare. As a stepping stone towards our goal, we launched a two month dermatology campaign, via our partner hospital, to reach 650 people in a two month period. The successful campaign brought people that suffered, due to simple dermatologic conditions. We only treated the suffering that’s visible, but also the trauma brought with it, that could not be seen by the naked eye. Donate Now!
